Who wouldn’t want an “insta-fix” for their game? Over the many years we have conducted our schools, it is certain that good instruction and practice are necessary for improvement. However, over those many years, we have found some “insta-fixes” that require no practice but help almost every player. As we enter mid-season, we thought you might like to have an “insta-fix”.

• Using an iron, stand at address with the club positioned in the center of your stance.

• Raise the club so the shaft is parallel to the ground.

• Look at the grooves on the clubface. They are probably leaning slightly to your left. If the bottom groove was the hour hand on a clock you could say it was pointing toward 11 on the clock face.

• Without changing your hand position, turn the grip in your hands until the bottom groove is pointing straight up, or pointing to 12 on the clock face.

• Now lower the club head so it is at address in the center of your stance.

• When you had first set-up at address, the clubface was de-lofted and aimed left. The clubface is now square to the target line and correctly lofted. Over the years we have found that 8 out of 10 golfers set up with the clubface delofted and aimed left. There are only a few
