Southern Illinois Golf began in 2000 as a monthly print magazine dedicated to covering the local golf scene as well as the sport itself. The magazine soon found a loyal following and became an important source for golf news in the area. Before long, our distribution had spread across southern Illinois and into Missouri.

In October, 2008, the print magazine was discontinued to allow us to concentrate our resources on providing the most up to date and constantly evolving content for our readers. In an online format, we are able to update the news stories more often and provide more content than we could in a print publication, thus giving a more thorough and wide-ranging variety of golf related coverage than ever before.

Today, our Website is still dedicated to covering the vast array of
excellent courses and resources in the southern Illinois and Missouri region. It is our goal to bring more awareness of the sport and to spotlight the local facilities for dedicated and casual golfers alike.

SouthernIllinoisGolf.com is produced by Edwardsville Publishing Company in Edwardsville, IL, a Hearst Corporation company since 1979. The main product of the Publishing Company is the Edwardsville Intelligencer, a daily newspaper that has been around since 1862. The Edwardsville Publishing Company also hosts theintelligencer.com, a companion Website to the newspaper.
