MEHS Critter Classic Golf Tournament Gets New Date and Lower Price

Sunday, August 30th

Oakbrook Golf Club

Calling all golf lovers—sponsors are needed and registration is now open for the 2009 Metro East Humane Society Critter Classic golf tournament. The four-person golf scramble has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 30th at the Oakbrook Golf Club in Edwardsville and the registration fee has been lowered!

Participants will receive a goodie bag, lunch, dinner, drinks and most contests for only $80 per player. Contests will include 4 different hole in contests with prizes such as $10,000, a set of golf clubs, a Bose Radio, or a $500 Visa gift card. There will also be contests for closest to the pin, longest drive, and accuracy gambles. If teams register by August 1st they can take advantage of even lower fees, with a team registration costing only $300.

After golfers are done, there will be a dinner, awards presentation and oral and silent auctions items featuring a wide range of items including autographed sports memorabilia from Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson, Stan Musial, Rick Ankiel, Annika Sorrenstam, Rocco Mediate, and Boo Weekly. If you would like to attend the dinner and auction, but not play in the tournament, tickets are $20.

MEHS is also looking for sponsors for the tournament. A Tee Sponsorship is only $100 and will not only show your support of MEHS, but also can bring attention to your business. If you’re not a business owner, why not consider sponsoring a hole in honor of your pets?

All proceeds will benefit MEHS, which finds homes for more than 1,000 homeless animals each year and relies solely upon donations from the community.

To reserve your spot submit your golf registrations by August 21. Critter Classic registration forms can be found on the shelter’s website, www.mehs.org. You can also call the shelter at 618-656-4405 for sponsorship questions or more details.
